VDNA Desktop – Plate Retention Marker
Plate Retention applies when a VRM is removed from a vehicle, such as during the removal of a cherished plate. Until the subject VRM is allocated to another vehicle it will remain in retention.
In the event that a VRM is highlighted as being in retention, the VDNA System will display data linked to the most recent VRM associated with the vehicle prior to the plate’s retention. If you were to perform a look up on W40 XXX and the system flags this VRM as being on retention, the system will show you the requested search VRM along with the VRM that was previously associated with the vehicle – in this case, GX17 XXX
Please note: MOT and RFL data will not be displayed for plates in retention, as they do not apply.
What this means for you:
- We want to provide absolute clarity on the Current Status of a vehicle that you are searching for, irrespective of whether the current VRM is on retention.
- When you conduct a Look-Up on VDNA Desktop, the system will flag whether the VRM is in retention
- To highlight this, we have added a new Provenance Marker on our reports
- A red marker indicates the plate is in retention.
- A green marker indicates the plate is not in retention.
This update is also reflected in the “Vehicle Current Status” section of the report, where you’ll find a new entry indicating the retention status.
